Obituary: May M. (Mahseet) Chubbee - Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK
FEBRUARY 18, 1910 ~ APRIL 29, 2009 (AGE 99)
May (Mahseet) Chubbee, 99, a resident of Grove since 1966 passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Grand Lake Villa Nursing Home. May was born on February 18, 1910 to Jack Mahseet and Anna Kitchell. Mrs. Chubbee worked as a federal employee for different Indian schools in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Lawrence, Kansas and was a member of the North American Indian Women's Association. She was very instrumental in starting the Alumni Association at Tahlequah Sequoyah High School. She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening her many friends and neighbors and watching wildlife. May was most proud of her long marriage to her love, Thomas who preceded her in death in 1982. They worked together on leather Indian art painting and fine jewelry beading. May is preceded in death by her sisters Julia Mahseet, Cody Mahseet, Irene Mahseet, and her brother Alfred Mahseet. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Grove's First Baptist Church with Reverend David Rycroft officiating. Interment will follow in the Buzzard cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Visiting hours will be from 8:00 AM until 12:00 noon at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2, 2009.
