Obituary: Russell Dean Howard - The Claremore Daily Progress - Published January 8, 2011
January 22, 1964 - January 6, 2011
Russell Dean Howard, born Jan. 22, 1964, passed away at his home in Grove, after a short illness on Jan 6, 2011. Russell graduated from Claremore High School in 1982 where he was active in football and played in several bands over the years. Russ lived and worked in Claremore until 2000, then later moved to Grove where he was employed at Grove Hospital. Russ is survived by his wife Shawn Howard of Grove; sons, Rusty Howard and fiance’, Ashley Budde, of Claremore, Austin Howard and wife, Nicole, of Anchorage, Alaska, and John Thornsbury of Grove; five grandchildren: Scotty, Steven, Harley, Owen and Halle; parents Ken and Alice Howard; and one brother, Randall Paul Howard of Grove. Russ was an avid musician, he loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He was infamous for his practical jokes that brought joy and laughter to his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 at First Baptist Church “Chapel” in Claremore.
