Obituary: Delvia M. Rowe - The Daily Sentinel, Grand Junction, CO - Published July 13, 2014
January 18, 1923 - July 6, 2014
Delvia "Del" M. Rowe, of Grove, was called home to meet her Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO after a short illness. She was 91. Del was born January 18, 1923, in Eufaula, OK to McKinley C. and Willie Catherine (Murphy) Pierson. She was raised and attended school in Foss, OK. In 1942, she married Ray Norwood. The couple moved to CA and owned a towing and garage service until Ray's death. From this union came one son, Delvin Ray Norwood, who also preceded her in death. Later, Del met and married Bill Rowe and the couple moved to Grand Junction, CO, where they started the Appliance Sales and Repair Service. While in Grand Junction they were very active in the Clifton Christian Church, where Del taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. The couple then made their way to Collbran, CO, where they were also very active in the community.
In 2008, they moved to Grove, OK. Del attended the Bible Baptist Church of Grove, OK.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 11 at the Bible Baptist Church, Grove, OK. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, also at Bible Baptist Church. Burial at Olympus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Awana's Children Program, PO Box 450935 Grove, OK 74345.
