United States Army Corps of Engineers

US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS -  George Washington appointed the first engineer officers of the Army on June 16, 1775, during the American Revolution, and engineers have served in combat in all subsequent American wars. The Army established the Corps of Engineers as a separate, permanent branch on March 16, 1802, and gave the engineers responsibility for founding and operating the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Arrows

ARROWS -  Traditionally considered a Native American symbol, the arrow can hold a wide array of meanings. These meanings can also vary from tribe to tribe. Native Americans are known for using signs and symbols as a way to communicate their history, ideas and dreams. The arrow was a weapon in their culture, it was used to hunt and provide for their families as well as offer protection, and because of this it was a tool for sustaining life.

The use of the atomic symbol flowed from their belief that human progress can best be achieved through the scientific method and rational, open inquiry.

United States Astronaut

UNITED STATES ASTRONAUT -  The astronaut badge is a badge of the United States, awarded to military pilots, naval flight officers, navigators/combat systems officers (this badge can also be awarded to USAF officer astronauts who are not navigators/CSOs, but who wear the same insignia while designated as astronaut-qualified Air Force "observers"), flight surgeons, and civilian pilots who have completed training and performed a successful space flight.

CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST -  The Church of Christ, Scientist was founded in 1879 in Boston, Massachusetts, by Mary Baker Eddy, author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and founder of Christian Science. The church was founded "to commemorate the word and works of Christ Jesus" and "reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing".

United States Air Force (Officers & Pilots Wings)

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE (OFFICERS & PILOTS WINGS) - U.S. Air Force aeronautical ratings are military aviation skill standards established and awarded by the United States Air Force for commissioned officers participating in "regular and frequent flight", either aerially or in space, in performance of their duties.  USAF aeronautical badges, commonly referred to as "wings" from their shape and their historical legacy, are awarded by the Air Force in recognition of degrees of achievement and experience.

Church, United Church of Religious Science

UNITED CHURCH OF RELIGIOUS SCIENCE -  Religious Science started in 1927 when a man named Ernest Holmes was encouraged to organize a group to formally study his teachings on metaphysical spirituality. Holmes himself studied the mind science teachings of Dr. P. Quimby, Mary Baker Eddy, Charles Filmore, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, along with Eastern mysticism and religions such as Hinduism. He took a little from each of these (Christian Science, Unity,transcendentalism, etc.) and formulated his own belief system, which he then gave lectures on.

Royal Arch Mason (Masonic)

ROYAL ARCH MASON (MASONIC) -  

The compound character known as the triple tau is one of the Royal Arch’s emblems.  A triple tau is literally “three Tau’s,” the tau being the nineteenth letter in the Greek Alphabet.  The triple tau of Royal Arch Masonry consists of 3 T's linked in the center joined at their base.  This mystical character can be signified in a few different ways.
