Grove's Governmental History

May 22, 1902 - Founded as Grove Indian Territory

November 22, 1902 - Incorporated as the Town of Grove

October 7, 1980 - Voters approved the Town to become a City with a Council - Manager Form of Government

GROVE MUNICIPAL SERVICES AUTHORITY UTILITIES

The GMSA Utility Service Department has 24 full-time employees dedicated to:
Providing our customers with a safe and reliable gas, water and wastewater system, at competitive rates.

Zoning Board of Adjustments

A five member Board of Adjustments is appointed by the Mayor and Council, and shall have all the powers and duties prescribed by law and in Chapter 8-1 Board of Adjustments of the City of Grove Zoning Ordinances, which are more particularly specified as follows:

Grove Economic Development Authority

David Adzigian, GEDA Vice-Chairman; Mike Lewandowski, GEDA Member; Judith Read, Grove Resident and Bill Keefer, Grove City Manager review aerial maps of the Grove Industrial Park.

The Grove Economic Development Authority is governed by a five member board.  The members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council. 

Grove Municipal Services Authority

Grove Municipal Services Authority is a private entity founded in 1957.  Grove Municipal Services Authority is governed by a Board comprised of 5 members.  In addition to providing gas to the Grove area we also sell gas to our surrounding neighbors including Afton, Fairland, Jay and Delaware County Rural Water and Gas Districts Numbers 6, 9 and 10.

Grove Municipal Airport Managing Authority

The Grove Municipal Airport Managing Authority (GMAMA), a Public authority established by the City of Grove, Delaware County, Oklahoma, to operate, manage and own public property known as the Grove Municipal Airport, publishes notice to the public of its regularly scheduled meetings.

Grove Fire Department

                       FIRE & TORNADO SAFETY HOUSE ARRIVES IN GROVE

 

The Grove Fire Department is a Combination Full-time/Volunteer Fire Department with a Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, 3 Captains, 1 Firefighter and 25 Volunteer Firefighters.

The Fire Department holds a monthly meeting at 6:30 PM on the first Tuesday of each month at Fire Station No. 1, 141 East O’Daniel Parkway – Grove, OK. 74344.  (In the event of a legal holiday the Fire Department reserves the right to meet the second Tuesday of that month.)

The airport was built in 1960. Since that date, Twenty-seven (27) privately owned hangars and twenty (20) T-hangars have been added to the property.
