City Council Special Meeting

The Grove City Council will hold a Special Meeting at 1:30 p.m. on April 19, 2017 in Room 5 at City Hall, 104 W. 3rd Street, Grove, OK.

The agenda will be a discussion with Congressman Markwayne Mullin during his presentation to the City Council and others.

Waste Tires, HHW, E-Waste Disposal - 1 day event

 

A FREE Waste Tires, HHW, E-Waste Disposal one-day event will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Grove Public Works Facility located on N. Cherokee Street.  The FREE disposal day is limited to Grove Municipal Service Authority (GMSA) customers, and a current GMSA bill must be presented prior to authorization to dispose of items.  Call 918-786-6107 for more information.

Tribal, Sovereign Nation of the Kaw (Kanza)

SOVEREIGN NATION OF THE KAW (KANZA) -  The Kaw Nation Seal symbolizes the relationship between the Southwind and the Kaw (Kanza) people. The Kaw’s lived long with the Southwind and the Southwind with them.  The south wind travels far and fast and knows the movements of the buffalo and other foragers. The wind conducts reconnaissance on enemies and carries messages to and from allies. The wind knows where nuts, fruits, and grains grow, and the hiding place of squirrel, rabbit, and turkey.

Tribal, Shawnee

SHAWNEE TRIBE -  The Shawnee Tribe is a federally recognized Native American tribe in Oklahoma.  Also known as the Loyal Shawnee, they are one of three federally recognized Shawnee tribes.  The others are the Absentee-Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

SAC & FOX NATION TRIBE -  The Sac and Fox Nation is the largest of three federally recognized tribes of Sauk and Meskwaki (Fox) Native Americans. They were relocated to Oklahoma and are predominantly Sauk.

United States Army 170th Infantry Brigade

U. S. ARMY 170TH INFANTRY BRIGADE -  The 170th Infantry Brigade was an infantry formation of the United States Army. From 2009 to 2012, as part of its third period of existence, it was based at Baumholder in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Wildcats (University of Kentucky)

UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY WILDCATS -  The official nickname for the University of Kentucky's athletics teams is "Wildcats."  The nickname became synonymous with the university shortly after a 6-2 football victory over Illinois on Oct. 9, 1909, on the road.

Commandant Carbusier, then head of the military department at old State University, told a group of students in a chapel service following the game that the Kentucky football team had "fought like Wildcats."
