GENERAL SOCIETY OF THE WAR OF 1812 -  The General Society of the War of 1812 is a genealogical society that was founded in 1894 as an umbrella organization for several existing societies for descendants of veterans of the War of 1812.

Cats

CATS -  As for symbolism, cats are symbolic of rebirth and resurrection, per their nine lives.

Windmill

WINDMILL -  Windmill's hold much symbolism, not only in their image but in their function.  A symbol of Spiritual transformation and ascendance.  Also, often seen on the headstones of farmers and ranchers.

  • The Windmill uses the element of Air to turn it's workings.  Air amongst a plethora of interpretation, representative of thought, intellect, idea and synthesis.  Air is the primary basis of all existence. 

 

Perpetual Care

PERPETUAL CARE - The term "perpetual care" in cemeteries has come to mean the providing of funds, to be held in perpetual trust, the income of which is to be expended in keeping up forever the necessary care of the individual lots and graves, and the maintenance, repair and future renewal of the borders, drives, water and sewer systems, enclosures and necessary buildings.

Cross, Wedding or Marriage

WEDDING OR MARRIAGE CROSS -  Also known as the Cana Cross.  The Wedding Cross features two interlocking wedding rings. The rings may be above the horizontal bar of the cross, on the bar, or even beneath it.

Two interlocking rings on a cross form a composite symbol of commitment of a couple to live, love and grow united together in God's grace. It symbolises the partnership of the husband and wife with Christ.  When two people are joined in love, if Christ is in their lives then like a three-ply cord, the marriage is strong.

United States Army 160th Airborne Special Operations Regiment (Night Stalkers)

U. S. ARMY 160TH AIRBORNE SPECIAL OPERATIONS REGIMENT (NIGHT STALKERS) -  The United States Army Airborne 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, abbreviated as the 160th SOAR and also known as Night Stalkers, or within JSOC as Task Force Brown,  is a special operations force of the United States Army that provides helicopter aviation support for general purpose forces and special operations forces.  Its missions have included attack, assault, and reconnaissance, and are usually conducted at night, at high speeds, low altitudes, and on short notice.

Tribal, Potawatomi Nation

POTAWATOMI NATION TRIBAL SEAL -  The Potawatomi Nation’s Seal has its own particular symbolism, with each piece standing for a significant piece of Potawatomi heritage and history.  Originally the Potawatomi were part of a larger group of tribal nations including the Chippewa and Ottawa, sometimes referred to as Odawa.  Upon their moves out of Canada to the shores of the Great Lakes, the three peoples split into separate tribal nations.

United States Army Air Force 461st Bomb Group

U. S. ARMY AIR FORCE 461ST BOMB GROUP -  The 461st Operations Group is a joint Air Force/Army unit flying the Northrop Grumman E-8 Joint STARS aircraft.  The group is assigned to the 461st Air Control Wing of Air Combat Command and is stationed at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. It was most recently activated on Oct 1, 2011.

Star, Blue

BLUE STAR MEMORIALS -  The Blue Star Memorial Program honors all men and women that serve in the United States Armed Services.  This program began with the planting of 8,000 Dogwood trees by the New Jersey Council of Garden Clubs in 1944 as a living memorial to veterans of World War II.  In 1945, the National Council of State Garden Clubs adopted this program and began a Blue Star Highway system that covers thousands of miles across the Continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii.

National Society U. S. Daughters of 1812

NATIONAL SOCIETY U. S. DAUGHTERS OF 1812 -  The United States Daughters of 1812 is a patriotic society founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1892, and incorporated as a national organization on February 25, 1901.   It presents itself as a "volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving and increasing knowledge of the history of the American people."   In its early years the group served "fraternal interests [of] women whose lineal ancestors served in the civil government, the army or the navy of the United States" between 1784 and 1815.
