Tribal, Choctaw Nation

CHOCTAW NATION TRIBAL SEAL -  Great Seal of the Choctaw Nation.  An unstrung bow, encompassing three arrows and a smoking pipe-hatchet, symbolizes history and tradition of the Choctaw Indians.   This seal was used on all official papers of the Choctaw Nation until 1907, when the Indian and Oklahoma Territories united as the State of Oklahoma.

Chief Satanta Descendants

CHIEF SATANTA DESCENDANTS -  In the 1860s and ’70s, one of the best-known Plains Indians was the Kiowa war Chief Satanta.   In the East, he was seen as the orator of his people, a sort of rustic philosopher who represented them in treaty negotiations, and his observations on Indian-white relations were often repeated in great metropolitan newspapers.

Skull, Cow

COW SKULL -  The skull connotes death.  It’s long been engraved in our minds that when we see one, we “know” it signifies death.  And death in most cultures doesn’t sound inviting.  But for others, it’s some kind of a new beginning. And the skull it represents also suggests a happening beyond death that’s not always negative. A s for cows, it’s widely known that they are gentle creatures and are patronized in some religions as the sustainer of energy.

Catholic Mutual Benefit Association (CMBA)

CATHOLIC MUTUAL BENEFIT ASSOCIATION -  CMBA was established for the purpose of joining fraternally in one grand organization all male Catholics between the ages of 18 and 50 that are able to pass a proper medical examination.  To supply life insurance of $1,000.00 or $2,000.00 at actual cost to give social benefits only given by secret or fraternal organizations outside the Catholic Church, and to offset the work of secret societies. The CMBA was organized first at Niagara Falls, New York on July 3, 1876.  It was incorporated in the state of New York on June 9, 1879.

Wings

WINGS -  In Christianity they symbolize protection and shelter.  God protects man in the shadow of his wings (Psalms).  

(KJV Psalm 91:4) - "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” 

The symbol of lightness, spirituality, the possibility of flying and rising up to heaven.   Angels are the purest expression of winged spirit.  According to Hindus, wings are the expression of the freedom to leave earthly things behind as a result of contemplation and to reach Paradise.

Nurse, Licensed Practical (LPN)

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) -  Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) do not work independently, but are supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).  Physicians and RNs determine courses of patient care; an LPN's job is to assist patients in carrying out these instructions.

Gold Star Father or Family

GOLD STAR FATHER OR FAMILY -  At the conclusion of World War II, Congress established the Gold Star Lapel Button to provide an appropriate means to identify widows and widowers, children, parents, brothers and sisters of members of the Armed Forces of the United States who lost their lives in the defense of democracy and freedom during the World Wars I and II; and any subsequent armed hostilities in which the United States became engaged.

American Gold Star Mothers (AGSM)

AMERICAN GOLD STAR MOTHERS -  American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. (AGSM), is a private nonprofit organization of American mothers who lost sons or daughters in service of the United States Armed Forces.  It was originally formed in 1928 for mothers of those lost in World War I, and it holds a congressional charter under Title 36 § 211 of the United States Code.   Its name came from the custom of families of servicemen hanging a banner called a Service Flag in the windows of their homes.  The Service Flag had a star for each family member in the Armed Forces.

Eagle Scout

EAGLE SCOUT -  Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).  The designation "Eagle Scout" was founded over one hundred years ago.  Only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process.  The requirements necessary to achieve this rank take years to fulfill.  Since its founding, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.

Women's Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)

WOMEN'S AIRFORCE SERVICE PILOTS (WASP) -  The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), called "Women's Army Service Pilots" in some sources, was a paramilitary aviation organization.  The WASP's predecessors, the Women's Flying Training Detachment (WFTD) and the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS) organized separately in September 1942.  They were the pioneering organizations of civilian female pilots, employed to fly military aircraft under the direction of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.
