SONS OF TEMPERANCE -  A triangle inscribed with the words Love, Purity and Charity is the symbol for the Sons of Temperance.   The Sons of Temperance was a brotherhood of men who promoted the temperance movement and mutual support. The group was founded in 1842 in New York City.  It began spreading rapidly during the 1840s throughout the United States and parts of Canada.  The organization had a highly restricted membership. In order to become a member (called a “brother“), a man had to be nominated by an existing brother.

JEWISH VETERAN OF UNITED STATES WARS -  Mission:  We, citizens of the United States of America, of the Jewish faith, who served in the Wars of the United States of America, in order that we may be of greater service to our country and to one another, associate ourselves together for the following purposes:

SIKHS -  Sikhs believe that human beings spend their time in a cycle of birth, life, and rebirth. They share this belief with followers of other Indian religious traditions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The quality of each particular life depends on the law of Karma.

MEDAL OF VALOR -  A medal awarded for bravery, commonly called a Medal of Bravery, Bravery Medal, or Medal of Valor is a type of medal, usually associated with military forces, police forces, or other public safety entities, given to personnel who have served with gallantry, often for those who have engaged in specific acts of bravery or valor. 

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION (SAL) - The Sons of the American Legion is a patriotic service organization formed on September 12–15, 1932. The S.A.L.

VIETNAM WAR VETERAN -  The Vietnam War, also known as the Second Indochina War, and known in Vietnam as Resistance War Against America or simply the American War, was a war that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from November 1, 1955 to the fall of Saigon on April  30, 1975.  This war followed the First Indochina War (1946–54) and was officially fought between North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam.

KNIGHTS OF THE MACCABEES (KOTM) -  Knights of the Maccabees was a fraternal organization formed in 1878 in London, Ontario, Canada. Most active in the U.S. state of Michigan, the group's fraternal aspects took a back seat to providing low-cost insurance to members. In the society's early years it also provided other final-expense related benefits such as society cemeteries.

The motto of the Knights of Maccabees was the Latin phrase "Astra Castra Numen Lumen" which means "The stars my camp, the Deity my light".

CROSSED SWORDS -  In Christian symbolism swords pointing upwards show the readiness to fight evil.  Also, upwards-pointing crossed sabres in the emblem of the United States Cavalry, shows they are always ready for a fight.  Swords and other weapons pointing downwards imply the fight is over.  Consequently downward-pointing swords may be seen engraved on a war memorial to honor those who fought and died in battle.

WOODMEN OF THE WORLD -  Woodmen Life (officially Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society) is a fraternal benefit society based in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, that operates a large privately held insurance company for its members.

MODERN WOODMEN OF AMERICA (MWA) -  Modern Woodmen of America is the third-largest (based on assets) fraternal benefit society, with more than 770,000 members. Total assets passed US $14.1 billion in 2014. Though having had the same founder, it is not affiliated financially in any way with another, similarly-styled fraternal benefit society,  Woodmen of the World, and despite the name "Modern" is actually older than its counterpart.
