2019 Annual Spring Clean Up
The City of Grove's ANNUAL SPRING CLEAN - UP is scheduled for April 16 - 20, 2019. Don't be left holding the bag.........Items accepted for pick up include: JUNK, APPLIANCES, FURNITURE, YARD DEBRIS & BUILDING WASTE (NOTHING ALLOWED OVER 70 POUNDS). The Bernice Sanitation crews usually begin on the East side of Grove and travel West. You may place all items along the right-of-way beginning April 11, 2019.
ITEMS THAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FOR CURBSIDE PICK UP INCLUDE:
- All items must be placed along the street in the city's right-of-way prior to the crews stopping at each residence.
- Crews are not responsible for picking up items that are not in place when they stop for pick up.
- Leaves, grass and clippings must be bagged.
- Other yard debris must be bundled and tied with degradable string or twine, the bundle shall not be larger than four (4) inches in diameter or four (4) feet in length.
- Building waste is limited to debris resulting from a property owner's or tenant's home improvement project and may include lumber, plywood, siding, drywall, concrete rubble, windows, etc. Building waste shall be placed in garbage container 33 gallons or less or a 45 to 96 gallon poly cart. Containers and content shall not weigh more than 70 pounds.
ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP AT CURBSIDE INCLUDE:
- Household garbage, tires, batteries, motor oil, oil based paints, varnish, paint thinner, etc.
- Any items that are too large or too heavy to be loaded into the trash compacter.
ITEMS ACCEPTED AT THE GROVE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (Turn N at 3rd Street/Cherokee intersection and go approx. 2 miles North to the plant entrance).
FREE TIRE DISPOSAL - April 15 - 20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents of Grove and Delaware County may dispose of up to 25 tires per household. The following tires will be accepted: Automobile, Light Truck, Semi-Truck and Farm Implement. ****Commercial Tire Shops and Dealers are not eligible to participate in the FREE Tire Disposal.****
FREE HHW & E-WASTE DISPOSAL - FOR GMSA RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS - ONE DAY ONLY - APRIL 20 9:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M.
Hazardous Waste includes: Anti-freeze, Brake fluids, Gasoline, Motor oil, Oil-based paints, Varnish, Solvents, Household cleaners, Mercury, Fluorescent bulbs, Drain openers, Thinners, Pesticides, Weed killers, Yard-care products, Poisons, All types of Batteries, Glues.
E-Waste Includes: TVs, Radios, Computers, Keyboards, Telephones, Printers, Copiers, Etc.
Unacceptable items include: Commercial & agricultural waste, pressurized gas cylinders, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, ammunition, other explosives or unknowns. All items must be from Grove residential customers of GMSA and EACH VEHICLE MUST SHOW A CURRENT GMSA UTILITY BILL.
